Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) 2:1 in 2009

Since qualifying Farah has undertaken post graduate Bobath training in Early

Assessment and Intervention with Babies and Young Children, numerous

courses and study days on cerebral palsy, SDR, treatment and management

of children with complex needs, massage, signing, taping, MOVE curriculum

and sensory integration. A full list of post graduate study is available on request

Farah is registered with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists and Health and Care Professionals Council. She is advanced DBS checked. Farah is also proficient in English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi.

Summary

Farah brings more than 6 years’ of experience of working with children with neurological and musculoskeletal dysfunction.

Farah has a special interest in preschool children with complex needs. She says “having started my career in the acute adult setting my keen interest and experience from the Clinical Stroke settings and my passion for working with children allowed me to tie these together to specialise in Community Neurological Paediatrics taking on a diverse and complex caseload from 0-19 years.”

Farah is committed to providing and supporting families in the assessment and treatment process and delivering individualised treatment packages according to the child’s specific need. Farah says “I believe in providing and facilitating a collaborative and holistic approach, placing the child and their family at the centre of care. I am passionate about the impact and role that Physiotherapy has in supporting parents to develop their child’s potential and maximising their accessibility in gaining enjoyment from their environment.”

Farah has worked in a variety of positions including as a physiotherapist on a voluntary basis in Cochin and Kolkata (Indian Institute for children with Cerebral Palsy), being contracted to support Education and Health Care Plans (replace statement of SEN) outcomes for Physiotherapy targets in Schools for children with complex needs, in the community, at the family home, schools, nursery’s, and in the acute sector. She has managed a caseload of children and babies with Cerebral Palsy, Acquired Brain Injury, Pre-term Babies, Developmental Delay, numerous syndromes and other complex medical conditions. Farah has been instrumental in planning, delivering and monitoring the Hydrotherapy, MOVE and Rebound programmes in special schools.

Farah is used to working jointly with other professionals, at the family home, in nurseries and schools, and in clinics. She currently provides packages of physiotherapy care and advises in cases on the past, present and future physiotherapy and (when required) related equipment and orthotics needs of children with neurological and musculoskeletal dysfunction. Farah provides individual treatments and personalised physiotherapy programmes at the child’s home, nursery, school, a clinic in Maidstone and has some access to a hydrotherapy pool.

Farah works alongside a team of equally experienced neuropaediatric physiotherapists and is under the direct mentorship of our company director,  Dr Heather Epps.
